About the LANTITE Examination
The Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) is an assessment framework managed by ACER. It is a mandatory requirement for teacher registration across Australian states and territories to ensure graduates possess personal literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to the top 30% of the adult population.
Two Distinct Components
Separate Literacy and Numeracy assessments, each consisting of 65 on-screen questions to be completed within 120 minutes.
ACER Standards
Administered via secure test centres or remote proctoring. Performance is benchmarked against national teacher standards.
Teaching Scenarios
Questions assess practical applications of mathematics and English contextually placed within Australian school environments.
